Phones get switched around or replaced and labels do not. The patient does not know what number they are at... If the Definity checks each line can't a phone use that signal to display its own number?

If this is the case you might start by labeling the jacks with the numbers to assist with figuring out whats where.
You might then see if you can put a placard or label on the wall, where it is visible, which has the number on it.
I assume this will display phone numbers campus wide?
Is there a way to restrict it to certain phones? We are on v6 now but plan on upgrading soon. Thanks
If I understand this situation, you are probably refering to the did numbers that are used to reach the rooms.
If thats what they are I suspect that self station display would not help, Can that even be done on an analog?
We move 40+ people a week (90% same type phones), phones aren't labeled or there is no phone there. I carry a display phone, plug into the jack, and rather than calling the operator to ask what extension I'm on I enter the SSD code 129. It then displays the number I'm on - on the display - this eliminates me calling the operator or a peer. I can then TTI the phone out, and TTI the new number in. (I could PSA also, but don't).
Not sure if this is what you want, and it can't be limited by extension... It's not harmful, so I wouldn't see why limit use...
I'm in the same situation: over 100 patient telephones throughout the facility and within a week of putting a label on them it is worn off. I'm with Bobg1: Label the jack or put a label on the wall and print up a list of beds with associated numbers for the Patient Coordinator/Charge Nurse and Switchboard. This works well at my facility. Nurses have enough to remember without trying to teach them a code to display a telephone number or a VDN number for the same purpose. I think you would find you had done a lot of work and then the feature wasn't used.
