Analog card on 81c doesnt ring but works as a phone. 1

Hello everyone

I got a 81C system and we just got some analalog cards in and I set a couple extensions up for Polycom conference phones and when you call the extension it doesnt physically ring. You can pick it up when you think its ringning and its fine and you can call out just fine. Here is the printed tnb in case i am missing something but I even tried doing a cpy from a known good working tn with a same model conference phone and get the same result. I also moved the Ext to another TN on another card that has been here in our system for a while and it worked so I know its not the phone either.

I realized that after posting. I didnt even think of such a thing. To me, its a phone system its meant to ring phones so why would you need an additional card to make them ring

I cant believe that...

I do have an extra ring card is it the same to install as a digital or analog card? Which the dig/an cards I just pop them in. Can this be just pushed in and turned on during production hours? There always really paranoid of changes during production hours.

you can start swapping card out move digitals to shelf without ring generator move/install analogs to that shelf ..no biggie...or purchase a ring generator

the separate ring gen makes it very easy to replace one without taking the shelf down, and no need to buy one for shelves that are just digital, i keep one without a ring gen for analog modems that users want for just outbound calls, best hacker in the world can't hack in if the modem doesn't answer.. and they don't answer if that they don't ring...

Unfortunatley we have analog/digit mixed in every cabinet.

I have over 1400 configured ports between 2 locations connected by fiber. They dont pay me enough to organize there mess that much to redo all the punches and make the cabinets setup they way it should of been in the first place now that I am learning more and more everyday thanks to this board. I been basically there hands on learning pbx admin for almost 2 years now. And now I finally got a promotion and get to focus more on this area. Eventually I will clean up there mess though.

i know how you feel we have almost 7000 sets on this 81, a close to 10,000 configured ports, 30 plus pri's and t's.. they can get even bigger
