An RPC communications error

An RPC communications error occurred. Unable to bind over RPC. Locality Table (LTAB) index: 212, NT/MTA error code: 1722. Comms error 1722, Bind error 1722, Remote Server Name SAXTON_2 [MAIN BASE 1 500 (null)] (14)

I get this error everyday in My exchange5.5 event log
can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this problem

that's a directory synch failure. What relationship is SAXTON_2 to the server you're getting this error on? Also, is it physically located in the same LAN?

I am having this same error. Did you ever find a resolution? I started out with 1 NT4 Exchange 5.5 server and went to two additional w2k Servers exchange 5.5 all in the same site. This error came about when i removed the older NT 4 box and installed the IMC on a w2k box. WHat is strange is that RPCping works, ping works, and so do changes in my users accounts. One of the servers does get accessed over a slow WAN connection. should i just ignore this?
