Hi friends,
I have trouble while system startup. computer just hangs(or freezes) before windows startup. i tried some silly things like unplugging keyboard, mouse and plugging in. it works when i do that. i presume thats not permanent solution. do any of u know how to upgrade AMIBIOS or do any of u have any idea what to do.

thanks
kris

This is probably not an upgrading BIOS issue, since it works when you do that...It might be a stuck key on the keyboard, and/or your CMOS battery..

When it hangs, hit the Escape key, there may be a DOS window behind to show you the error.

Look at the Boot up screen and you may see an error right before the POST ends, at the Beep
If you see something, do it again and have your finger over the Pause/Break Key.....and hit it right then,... then hit any key to release it

Also look in BIOS for DMI Event logging, view the errors, if you have this feature and "View Messages" first, then "Mark messages as read"

Hi Friend
Your problem might not be the problem of the BIOS.
I have such a problem on my system.Check on the keyboard, mouse and other external devices connected on your system.
I suspect the problem should be that of a mouse or Keyboard.Try using a known good keyboard and a mouse.
Also look closely for boot up errors, or error messages.

I think if you try that it will be of help to you
