Hi,

I am new to Exchange and Outlook forms. All I want to do is create a unique tracking number to initiate a help desk request. In other words, the user has a problem and emails us. I want their to be a unique ID that is put in the subject of my email. I assume that I will need to keep a file that all the users have rights to access so that my Outlook or Exchange form can read that number and then add 1 to it and then save the file again.
***Or***
I would be nearly as happy just including the Sent field info and the now() command in the subject field. But when you create a form it seems the Sent data is not yet encoded into the email.

I am doing this because we are trying to track our "issues" with our new software. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of application of Outlook. I further want to put this info into some kind of database. I would appreciate any guidance or links that might put me on the right track.

Thank you.
