Here is the Saga - Initially got a GeForce 4 MX440-SE for my E-Machines AthlonXP. I had upgraded to 640 MB of Ram and was looking for a video card to go with it. Obviously, as mentioned before - this machine is on a AM37 motherboard with a previous bios version that was having issues detecting numerous video cards and not starting because of it. I found a fix online stating to flash the bios to VBL44 and everything would work great. It seemed to at first as the card did initialize and the onboard was disabled. I didnt see an option on the bios menu to disable to onboard SIS ProSavage video chip.

I was on for a little while and shut the computer down for the night. When I got up the next day, the computer will boot up, I hear a single beep and you can hear the O/S loading after a few seconds. The only problem is the video card never activates the moniter to turn on. The moniter is fine and it will boot fine if a disconnect the card and plug it into the onboard video.

I get into windows and verify that according to windows, the sis is disabled, but that doesnt mean anything since the issue is before the XP application even starts to load. If I turn it off and reinsert the card, the display does come up but if I shut it back down or reboot - it wont come back up again. I am running out of ideas and was hoping someone could assist me. Before the bios upgrade - the system wouldnt even start at all. Now it starts and goes but the card doesnt display.
