Alternative to Frames?

Now that I have my banner layout fixed up properly and I'm happy with the way it looks, my boss tells me it looks great, but I don't like the fact you need to display a new page everytime you hit another link. He suggested putting a frame in so the banner will never change. I personally, hate frames, I don't think they look good and I find them more of a pain. Does anyone have an alternative? I did notice in some websites, there was kind of a box that actually allowed you to scroll just within that box. Does anyone know how I can create that? A link to a tutorial or something would be great. I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks

Can't you point your links to open in the body (main frame) of your page tho?

Yes, I can if I set it up as a frame, but I was hoping to not set it up that way.

u can use "Server Side Includes" on each page....the included page or code snip would hold the banner.....perhaps also look inot 'page caching'
All the best!
