Hi,

I’d like to if possible have some advice on implementing a backup system. My father’s company produces many technical reports and projects on the computer on a daily basis, he would like to have all these documents backed up at the end of every workday in order to always be able to recuperate recent files in case of emergency. I’ve tried using the software Stomp Backup myPC, I configured it to use incremental backup mode so that any new or modified files are recorded directly onto CD-RW, I scheduled it to run on a daily basis. This seemed to work well, at the end of each month my dad would bring me the backup CD and I would restore all the files and burn them to a DVD-RW, I would then format the backup CD and give it back to him for the new incremental backups. Lately though, I’ve been getting frequent errors from the program when it runs the scheduled backup, these errors prevent any files from being added to the CD resulting in disorganized backups, I am usually forced to either format the CD or use a new one. What I would like to know is if there is an alternative to my way of backing up his files, keeping in mind it has to be on a daily basis. Could it be that CD’s are not ideal for these types of backups? If so, what’s the better alternative, USB storage devices? Aside from the software I’m presently using is there another program that is more stable or suitable for my situation? I’ve heard good things of the Backup software under the Windows XP system tools.

I’d greatly appreciate any advice you can offer me.
Thank You

Checkout (I just posted this). I've used it for years...and it really works well. Get the Backup on demand software. It will run on schedule, or real time (backs up file upon change detect). Great Stuff! You're gonna love it!
