alternating background color on group footers

i'm printing only the group footer section of my report by suppressing the details section. is there a way that i could alternate the background color of group footers? i could only apply this technique on details section. . . thanks!

you could try this, it seems to work ok for me!
select to format the section of the group footer, select the color tab, then the formula button for background and enter the following;

If Remainder(GroupNumber,2)<>0 then yellow else white

thanks. you're the greatest! i wonder where can i get a list of reserved words used by cr. eg GrougNumber,RecordNumber etc.

If you go to the Formula Editor, there's a comprehensive list of Crystal Functions and Operators, illustrating all the 'reserved words' you mention.

They are further explained in the F1 Help files.
