alter a button from dreamweaver library

all the items in the library depend on the what site is selected in the dreamweaver in the menu site

itried to change in flash but i think macromedia has attached a code to their library files because when i changed the color and saved it back to the library it wont acsess the button now .do you know anything about this and how i can get around it?? thnx
