Does anyone have a solutions besides using route partitions to prevent accidental 911 calls.

Some of our users for some reason when call international or national longdistance, dial 9 to get to the ars tables then either dial 11 and omit the 0 for international calls or hit and extra 1. The problems is since we set up the phones to dial 911 and convert to call emergency services the PD and FD show up in full force.

This is only happening on fax machines which are in a Different COR.

If you use another route for 911 and that route with highest (FRL) and only some people could dial that route

Setting up a higher FRL would cause problems with calling every one. I need to be able to allow everyone but the faxes to dial 911, but then they will need to call LD and international. Not all users have national LD and international.

Thought of that one for awhile also.

Thanks

I had the same issue and what I did was set up vdn 911 routed it to a vector that played a short announcment "you are now being routed to the 911 operator at this point I routed the call to 4911 and used ars digit conversion to dial 911 that way most people hang up before the call actually leaves the building.

We dial 9 to get an outside line, so my dial plan doesn't allow for a 911 VDN. Would I put a VDN allowed by my dial plan in the Emergency Access Redirection Extension and have it play the message and then do the ARS conversion dial?

ok here is what to do it is kind of complex but it works

use the ars digit conversion table to convert 911 to an extension you can assign to a vdn. point the vdn to a vec that plays the announcment then dials any that is not being used include the 9 for an outside call I used 95555555 then I used ars digit conversion to convert this number to 911.
