Recently upgraded from v5.2 to v5.3.29 to solve an EDC issue. I also use Gift Card and Frequent Diner (delivery). When I went to generate a monthly mailout for my Frequent Diner I immediately received a database error message:

"BatchPrintCoupons:InitDataControl"
Database: C:\ALOHA\BACKOFFICE\DS\DSDATA.MDB
Table: qryCustomerReport
9: Subscript out of range
-also-
"BatchPrintCoupons"
Run-time error '91'
Object variable or With block variable not set

The dealer (one of the largest in Aloha) has absolutely no clue what this means. Fast Tech I understand is out of the picture and Radient won't talk to anyone but the dealer. My dealer support is a joke on the Frequent Diner issues. I'm stuck with over 3000 customers that I must be able to mail out rewards to. I understand that Frequent Diner is not a majorly used module and there's limited good support for it, but my restaurant lives by it.

Does anyone have any knowledge of how to troubleshoot this? My Frequent Diner version is 5.27.2 I thought that possibly this needed a version upgrade but the dealer says this is fine. Thanx

Have your tried going to database utilites and running a database repair and upgrade? Haven't used FD/Del with a newer version of 5.3 but that may be the ticket.

It may be that the person doing the upgrade ran an "upgrade" from the Aloha install CD which will upgrade everything installed! Bad, bad lazy tech. If so the reapir and upgrade may fix. It is also possible that the interface is no longer pointed to the correct database location as an "upgrade" on FD/Del will point to it's default which may not be correct for your system.

Dealer did upgrade from CD. The interface "is" working in that FOH to BOH is fine, customers accounts are interfacing and bonus methods are O.K. The problem only occurs BOH when trying to access records.

As for the database repair and upgrade, where do I run this from? The Database utilities from within the Backoffice module only has an optimize option, no repair, although I seem to remember one in versions past. Do I run another (repairtype).exe from somewhere else?

The FD interface path points to C:\Aloha\Delivery\Messages but of course the DB file is located C:Aloha\BackOffice\DS. I toyed with this path but nothing worked so I put it back to the former. Also tried refreshes, reboots, etc.

Any more ideas? I appreceiate any input.

Go to START=ALOHA BACKOFFICE=Database Utilities.
If it's not there, go to the folder itself.
Highlight the Database, then go to file, upgrade.

Also in the backoffice folder is an event viewer that may help debug this problem.

You probably have a version conflict, so check your DB version numbers there also. That is most likely what happened when the did the upgrade.
Which means it is their fault and need to fix it for you. They should have access to the BackOffice Escalation Team at Radiant. There actually is a group that does this stuff.

Also, if the application is upgraded to a version that is a few steps up, it may not be able to upgrade the dB without doing it one version at a time, so make your dealer come out with several versions of BO spanning from the version you used to have to the version thats on it now. License Manager will tell you what version you are licensed for, obviously. I the BackOffice Main Menu, go to help, about, and it will tell you the version of the app.

The dealer phoned me today at the exact same time I was reading your post. They said your advice sounded like what they would suggest but they were still clueless. Dealer said they were going to forward this to Radiant.

I'm still a bit unclear about how to do a database repair/upgrade. When I go to database utilities there is no repair option. If I go to the file itself (dsdata.mdb, how do I upgrade it? I can double click it to open Access and there are tools options, is that what you mean?

As of right now the dealer is leaving me hanging and I'm desperate to fix this thing. If you or anyone could help further I would really appreciate it.

The easiest bet would be to undo the &%#@'s blunder and reinstall back to the original version. Maybe the kind folks that botche dyou can handle that??

I may be a little late for this issue, but here is how to upgrade the delivery database. Open the Database Utilities from the main menu. Move your mouse pointer over version number, then right click while holding down the shift key. Upgrade should start automatically. Little known secret.
