Aloha SDK, white paper, something!!!

Does anyone know where to find information about the way Aloha works? some kind of SDK?
I work as an IT guy, and I'd like to expand my knowledge on POS systems.

You have to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Radiant before the SDK information is released.

The SDK is geared for the writing applications to interface via the COM object functionality (Now named Aloha Connect).

The rest of the system is quite basic and does not require a SDK or white paper to figure out and write apps for, just basic understanding of it's file structures.

Whats the going price for the com license? I've been curious about this as well.

Also, do you get the sdk when you purchase the com license, or does the license only allow you to use 3rd party "plugins"?

The SDK is a 4meg zip file that contains a document on all the functions of the SDK, some example files, and source examples in VB 6. It covers COM Data access, COM FOH interactions, COM printing, device activity monitors, and event notifications for functions.

I am not the one that can speak about any pricing or licensing, you will need to contact Radiant for information.

Also, if you use the COM interface, your POS systems may need to be licensed to use Aloha Connect to be able to work with applications utilizing the COM interface.

I called radiant and spoke for a couple of minutes about getting licensed for Aloha Connect and the dude pretty much laughed at me. He basically told me to keep sending emails to the address in the brochure, and that a guy like me would have a hard time "getting their attention". He also said that if they feel that you wont help the companies bottom line, you will pretty much be ignored.

My questions is, how is it that I search the web and find all of these crappy third party "addons" that I can develop in my sleep, yet I get laughed at because I want to write my own?

It's not like I was trying to get out of it without paying the licensing fees... I guess all money isn't green like it use to be.

I found this on their website but it was in a password protected area so I made a copy and moved it. There are contact number and email at the bottom. The document mentions becoming a authorized developer. I know of one, Lone Tree Technology.
