I am looking to backup my daily dated folder (after EOD has run) to an external drive. Years ago there was a script for this but it does not seem to work anymore......any ideas?

Cobain backup is free and works great. You can set it to do incremental backups across the network or to your external drive too, so it's not copying entire folders each time, just that which has changed.
Even better, it's a graphical user interface (no scripting writing) and is easy to figure out.
