Is there really no way to fire a cash drawer through a printer using the OPOS drivers?

Aloha - Cash Drawers through printer with OPOS?

You need to add the drawer as an OPOS device. I believe all OPOS drivers has an option to setup the cash drawer just like printers. What OPOS driver are you using right now?
I believe it's either one or the other....
All you need to do is set up the cash drawers under Maintenance-Hardware-Cash Drawers
Drawer type: Printer Interface
or
Drawer type: OPOS Cash Drawer
then you will also need to set up opos on each terminal with the correct name given to the cash drawer
