We are using exchange server for our e-mail. We have the box checked on the SMTP virtual server to prevent the server from being used as a relay server.

The problem I am having is allowing our remote users to send mail from offsite. I set their outlook up and they are able to recieve thier mail, it is just when they try to send, they recieve a relay error message. The settings on the relay access alow you to enter a domain or an IP address to allow relay services. How do I set it up to let these remote users send mail. The IP addresses on the machines do not stay the same, and must be assigned by the ISP they are using. Is thier any other way to let these people access e-mail remotely without unchecking the relay services box.

They must authenticate. Dan

Thanks for the response.

I tried to send again after I changed the properties on my mail account. I clicked the box that says My server requires authentication for outgoing mail, and I entered all the password settings. When I tried to send, I received an error message stating ..connection terminated..'572 Relay not authorized'
