alligning text in a column (*should* be easy)

This seems like this should be so completely easy I'm embarassed to ask, but I'm completely stuck.

I have one column in a table that is alligned to the right instead of the left. It also shows up alligned like that on the form I created for that table.

My instinct is to just select the column and then hit the text allign left button from the toolbar, but for some reason this is greyed out.

Can someone help me out, here?

This is standard behaviour for numeric columns.
