All in-coming calls ring at Presidents extension

I have inherited a Merlin Legend R3 processor with 2 408 GS/LS-MLX boards, and one 007 MLM voice mail with 2 voice mail ports. We use a MLX20L to modify or change the system and up until now everything appears to be working OK except, the presidents telephone rings one time for every call we receive. We are an unattended system and I have selected all operator calls or time outs transfer to an extension. What must I do to eliminate the calls going to the president’s telephone? One last note the president’s port is the second port on the first 408 board.

The way you have programmed the incoming calls on the system are causing this to happen.

You will find that the Presidents phone is the second extension in the night service extensions list and because of this, during night service all the phones in the night service extension list ring (voicemail ports included if they are in there as well), however, the call will ring the extensions in that list and cover to the first extension listed in that group with coverage after the attendant in that group.

If you are full auto attendant, remove all work arounds and lines from the DLC console. Then assign all the lines to the calling group assign as voicemail eg 770. Also remove all the extensions from the night service extension list (with the exception of the attendant(it wont let you remove that)). Add the 770 or voicemail group to the night service group assign and test

Try it and see how it goes.
