Not sure what has changed over the weekend but I am running into a problem where when I do a NSLookup I get the name of the server Servername.domainname.com but I don't receive the IP address.

I have an alias pointed to the IP address of the website directly and I have deleted it and recreated it several times.

I am using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 DNS.

Does an associated PTR record exist for this alias?

I appoligize for not closing out this item.

The problem turned out to be a server that we use as a test box. It had a static IP address that we were trying to use and since we were making changes via Remote desktop we were not getting the pop-up message that these was a conflict with the ip address.

We shut down the test box and we were good.
