Any chrp machine will support upto AIX 5.3. (the 7025-F50 / 9076 silver node, was about the first chrp machine)
Although some old adapters may not.
As you can see from the firmware site:
Support for 5.3 was added in the firmware for the 7026-M80.
I suggest you update your system firmware to the latest level and any other devices, like CD-ROM, adapters, tape drive, disks, etc. before you attempt to upgrade the software.
