Aironet will not accept MAC address 1

I entered in the one for this laptop, 00-40-f4-d3-ae-bb, and it give me an error telling me to enter a valid MAC address. I have tried just typing in out all in one sequence:

0040f4d3aebb

Then in the format that it asks for (HHHH HHHH HHHH):
0040 f4d3 aebb

Same result.

Any ideas?

There needs to be a period between each set of 4 and no blanks.

You know, after looking closely, there are periods after each HHHH. I guess I might need glasses. Or a bigger screen on the laptop.
