We have our AIMWorX pc still attached to our NEAX 2000IVS but the company that install the system (7 systems at different buildings all T1 to ADMIN site) never completely installed the software. A few years ago we wanted to get AIMWorX working and purchased v3.0 but never installed it.

I took over the communications job a couple months ago (PC Hardware , new to communications) and now I'm going to attempt an install. I was wondering if there's anything I should know in advance, or if there is any installation documentation anyone knows of floating around the web, or any advice from someone who's actually familiar with AIMWorX?... cause I'm not... yet!

I appreciate any advice you may have. Thanks Again for all the help you have already given me gentlemen!!!

I have only installed 4.5 and have the correct instructions. The only problem I think is that 3.0 works on oracle instead of SQL server? I can tell you one thing about AIMWORX is that once it works it is awesome, but you will feel like shooting it getting it their in my experience.

Update: Fdisked, formatted, and reinstalled Windows 95 and AIMWorX 3.0 on Computer still attached to our main office Neax 2000IVS. Serial cable still connected to Com1 and same modem is working properly also. Key is still good and working fine on Parallel port. All our other (six)NEAX 2000IVS phone switches our T1 into this main site (ADMIN building). So software is installed and working perfectly.

I tried setting up AIMWorX just to work with the main system which it is connected to so I could get a feel for the program before setting up the rest. I set up the SITE, SWITCH, and FACILITY to the best of my knowledge however, I still can't make AIMWorX connect to the system. It say's in the bottom right tray bar (Graphic not words) that it is physically connected though.

My question is, is there something simple I'm missing to at least get this system to connect? Is there any info I can get from MATWorX that can help me fill in the missing piece to this puzzle? Any help at all is greatly appreciated!!!

Update: The NEC rep had the card in the switch turned off. The top dip switch was over to the right with the rest of the switches. Finally AIMWorX is communicating with our 2000IVS. It is pulling info from some of our other switches but not all however. All switches are T1 to this our main switch here at ADMIN building. It looks like you have to be an expert to fully set this program up correctly though, zheesh!! If anyone has suggestions or advise on AIMWorX 3.0 I'm all ears. Thanks Gentlemen

The best thing to do is call ntac and open a call record. They will work with you until you get it working. If your NEC rep is not certified on AIMWORX it will be 2 ($200)tokens for the call. Also are you going to retrofit all of your IVS to the IPS before the end of march when NEC stops supporting the IVS unless you pay tokens for each call. Plus you won't be able to get the discounted price for the retrofit?

Five sites were originally installed by CBLD six years ago.

Two new 2000ivs sites were added and installed by NEC three years ago. Both sites have their own T1 line that goes to one of the original sites and then continues through that T1 to ADMIN.

Another new 2000ivs site was installed by NEC two years ago. We fibered one of the original 2000ivs sites to this new site then switched the existing T1 to the new site location and feed both switches through that T1 to ADMIN.

Another of the original site switches a 1000ivs was replaced two years ago with a 2000ivs and also programmed by NEC.

AIMWorX 3.0 is connected to ADMIN main switch and is finally connecting and reading four the eight switches through this switch, EXT 2000's (admin, original), EXT 2200's (original), EXT 2300's (original), and a fourth that instead of showing extensions it shows like an 8 digit code (However it does show extensions numbers that called to this switch).

Question: It seems to me that NEC programmed the new switches differently than CBLD programmed the original switches. Is the any place in the programming I should begin looking at to see why the new switches are not sending information to the main switch (ADMIN)? Any help at all with this dilemma is GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks Again

NEC told me they must not have programmed the new switches to push the information out because they thought AIMWorX wasn’t working. They want us to pay them big money now to come out and correct this problem so the new switches send the SMDR like our original switches. Is this complicated programming or is this just a few command changes that I could possibly be walked through? Thanks guys for all the help I've received from you.
