Hi All,
I don't know if this is the right form, but I thought I'd try my luck. I just bought a computer and I decided that I'm going to plug in another graphics card so I can have 2 monitors. Well my computer only has PCI slots and the graphics card is for AGP slots. Is there any way I can buy like an adapter or install and AGP slot real easily.
Thanks,
Matt

You can only have one AGP Slot. Normally they are 4x or 8x Slots (unless your board is pre-2000).

To run multiple monitors, you must either:

- Have 2 PCI Cards
- Have 1 AGP and 1 PCI Card
- Have 2 PCI-Express Cards (Very new technology, which'll replace AGP by 2005, and PCIE Graphics Cards are expensive, as are the motherboards)

PCI is very slow (for Graphics anyway)
AGP has 2x, 4x and 8x Modes
PCI-Express (PCIE) has effectively the same bandwidth as AGP 16x.

Of course, the latter option is the best, but by far the most expensive. The second option is the best otherwise, but to paly games you'll need to use the AGP Card as it's bandwidth and performance is much higher than PCI Cards.

The simple answer is No. There is no such adapter.

Alrite, Thanks alot. I just ended up getting a PCI graphic card. And I did find out it is really slow for graphics, there was nothing I could do, because I can't add an AGP slot.
Thanks,
Matt
