After Market Replacement Parts

Do you think anyone will start to manufacture after market replacement pats for MERIDIAN/NORTEL/NORSTAR/BCM?

It is done all the time for cars, boats and other various parts that are EOL or are actually built better than the original manufacturer.

For example I believe that Refurb Supplies already makes some of their own plastic parts and some Desi label companies make paper labels and plastic overlays.

eMetrotel allows M & T series sets to work on their systems.

Today I tried to order several CICS Cabinets only from MetroLine Direct and they are all out and they said they are no longer available.

I can always get tons of stuff from eBay but I would rather buy from a supplier. Do you know of any software or hardware after market suppliers?

Now Might be a good time to find the Mexican factory that was making the parts, and start a new business KNOCKOFF or NO-TEL Telecom.
But the reality is, Avaya paid a lot of money to shut it down, and I wouldn't expect they would leave anything in the factories that could be used to continue production.

There are still tons and tons of sellers of used and refirbed Nortel/Meridian systems out there. With the economy tanking most of these sellers
are stocked to the rafters with used systems as more and more small business went belly up. It should be a buyers market right now- know what the hardware is worth and don't overpay!!!

There really shouldnt be a need for knock off equipment for at least another 10 years. (software upgrades maybe) and if you noticed most of the software 6.1 and later Already have the "Made in Mexico" lable. Someone saw that commin!!

if that is the case then why would metro line make a comment that the cics cabinets are no longer available they're just not able to find them anymore?

ReTele communications in needham ma ask for Mark they always have cics and mics'

I know A1 Teletronics have some CICS cabinets, but like your finding out they are getting harder to come by.
