ADP FORM - Add new record

Hello,

Can't seem to understand what is wrong here. Within an Access Project connecting SQL 7.0, I have a search form for customers and a main form for displaying the customer details. For existing customers there is no problem except for a new customer I can't get

>DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , , acFormAdd, , Me!_[CustomerID]

OR

>DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec

to work properly. It only works if the form is *not* already open. If it is already open then I end up overwriting the currently displayed customer details. Is there something I am missing here (apart from closing the main form)?
