Does anyone have experience of outputting access reports for distribution in pdf format and what is involved ?

If you have adobe acrobat distiller (which works as a printer) you would simply send the report to print to the distiller.

You have to select the distiller as your printer before printing and then when you click print, it will process your file. It will give you various options about fonts, graphics, etc., and there will be a button to check that you want to view the pdf file after it is created. Also, it will ask you for a file name to save as.

Hope this helped

Thanks for the info. What I had in mind was producing 40 different reports with two going to each e-mail address (20 distinct e-mails). I wanted to know if I could automate this through macro/code.

You might check out the SendObject method. I use it to send reports to email recipients in RTF format.

Best regards,

Henr¥

We print through PDFWriter. You can by-pass the save as dialog box by amending the pdfwritr.ini (win 95) or the PDF Writer registry key (Win NT). Check out the Acrobat user forum
