ADO & advantage DB

I'm new to delphi7 and have to use ADO to connect to an advantage database. I've put the following on my form...

adoconnection
dataset
table
datasource

I've linked all of them, but when I try to build the connection string for the adoconnection it says the username and password supplied to access the database is inncorrect, when I know it is correct. any ideas?
