administrators account password never expires grayed out

In active directory the administrators account option that says password never expires is grayed out.....We are running group policies but only the administrators account is grayed out....Does anyone know about this issue....

The Administrator account has special priveledges associated with it. For example it cannot be locked out... ever. Nor can the password expire.

It also worth noting that any 'inherited'(filtered down from the next level above or indeed system defaults) Permissions or denies are always grayed out.
