We just upgraded to a S8700 and are in the process of converting our local circuits to ISDN PRI. But I have a couple of questions. In the Avaya documentation, it mentions that you need a TN765 Processor interface to administer the interface links. But it also states that is for a SI configuration. Is a TN765 still needed for a S8700? If not, where do you administer the interface links and do those tie back to the interface IDs on the signaling group screen?
Thanks for any help!

for a standard ISDN line for local service. You need to:

Add ds1

Add signal group

Add trunk group

Not sure what you are referring to for the interface links, unless you are trying to tie one switch to another switch.

I am using NFAS because I have three PRIs in a single trunk group and I only want to use 2 D channels. When you change the associated signaling field on the signaling group form to "n", it opens up for NFAS and asks for the trunk board and interface ID. The only place in the Avaya documentation I find the interface ID is when it ties back to the interface links on a TN765.

ahh...no the interface id is the order of which the ISDN T-s are in the TG from the LEC. T-1s usually like this.

1st T Primary D - interface id 0
2nd T Backup D - interface id 1
3rd T all Bs - interface 2

The dont have to be in the correct order in the list, but they do have to be 0 thru 2 as the corrispond with the LEC. If you get them out of order (and I know this from first hand) your ts will come up, but you will have one-way audio problems.
