How do i add local admin rights to a domain admin account? is it possible or does domain admins over ride local admin?

cheers

Go to the local admin group account and add the domain admin group as one of the users

Everytime when I add a new users or change domain name for the first time, I have to go to each individual computers to give users and administrator local rights.

Is there an easier way?

Sorry, misunderstood what you wanted.

On the server in your user profile, you have to be a member of the domain admin group also the domain computer group

Let me know if this works

I added domain admin group and domain computer group to for all of your Admins. My question is, when I logon as an end user, I don't have any local rights to the computer. Does that mean I need to go to each individual computer and give the end user local rights?

When I tested the method you suggested, it did not add the rights to local end users to the computer. I would still have to go to each individual computer and give local rights. What a PAIN!!!!

hey, the only thing you have to do is add yourself or the domain administrator to the group Doman Admins in the server, and then automatically when log on to any win NT,2000 you will be a local admin already, as likelylad said above. You wont need to go and add yourself as local admin, because windows will do it automatically if you are under domain admins group A+, MCP, CCNA

Keep fighting for your knowledge!

Sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave myself all the rights that you can imagine. I can logon to any computer on the network. But, when I am using any applications, I have to setup User and Password to give myself or any users local rights to that computer.

I can installed third party software but I still have to give them local rights which consumes a lot time.

Not entirely sure that I'm understanding your problem, but via Group Policy you can make anyone a member of Local Admin using Restricted Groups. Would that be helpful?
