Admin password workaround

I need to enter the administrator password on a laptop at a remote location in order to allow them to setup a new printer. I cannot connect via Laplink to this computer. Each time I try to open the remote control connection I get an error stating that "Remote Control disconnected. The remote computer disconnected your connection"

Is there any other way to allow the user to install the printer without giving them the admin password?

Can you give the user power user rights? They should be able to install printers then. Unless there is a GPO preventing them or in the local security settings its set to not allow install of print drivers.

How can I change the users access rights (ie. restricted user, power user etc) without giving them the admin password to go into that section of the control panel? Under whatever group they are in now, they do not have permission to make any of these changes.

Maybe somthing like Pc anywere could help you. You should be able to find a evaluation copy if you dont own it.

I have been trying to use laplink but am getting an error that I mentioned above. I can't find any work around to this error.

I would try pcanywhere but I can't install it on the remote pc because the user does not have permission to install programs.
