Is there any way to increase the minimum size of the jitter buffer on a 4620 IP phone? On a couple of my IP routes I get an ocassional burst of out of sequence packets with some discarded. These routes don't have full QoS yet. If the jitter buffer ramped up as soon as the burst started I would lose fewer packets at the cost of a little delay. The problem is the 4620 keeps telling me it wants to stay at 20 ms buffer size. Rarely have I seen it increase and when it does it only goes in 20 ms steps. I'd like to add 20 ms all the time - I can accept the extra delay, no problem. Can this be done?

I believe that the phone has a dynamic jitter buffer that can not be changed.

You're correct, it has a dynamic jitter buffer that has no adjustment.

Ip softphone is the only Avaya product I know that you can adjust the jitter buffer on.
