I have seen computers (at a university) with a policy that disables the browsing of the local computer via the IE address bar. We are trying to implement at similar policy here because we have internet kiosks around and I would like to lock IE down as tight as I can, especially from being able to manipulate local files.
The problem arises when I type C:\ in the address bar of IE I can see all the files in the root of the C: drive. I would like to know what policy/reg key enables this feature (the disallowing of browsing the local pc) so that I can restrict access via IE. I have several IE .adm files but none have this option. I appreciate any help anyone can provide.
