Recently I decided to replace my web hosting server. The problem that I am having is that after having moved my websites to the new box, and verified that everything is coming up appropriately I removed my old box from the network and assigned it's static address to the new box.

so say that the old ip of the new box was 192.168.1.100

and the address of the old box was 192.168.1.200.

I left the old system up until cutover time and then removed it from the network. I then assigned it's address to the nic on the new box.

Now when I try to call up my webpage---simply typing in the ip address into the browser address bar 192.168.1.200. the browser goes out and tries to find the server. Looking down at the bottom left hand corner of the browser window I discovered that it is looking for 192.168.1.100.

I have checked my DNS servers and have not been able to find any reference to the old ip address.

does anyone out there have an idea of what little step or process I'm missing?

Never mind I figured it out. I feel dumb admitting that I was redirecting my default.htm at the old IP address. Sometimes it's too easy to look for a much larger problem than there actually is.
