Transcend

Yes I developed a MS SQL Server 2000 trouhgt Ms Access 2000 Project. Don't you ever try Transcend ?

Hi again ...

sorry for my ignorance, I either develop databases on SQL Server 2000 or Access ... I don't use access to develop a SQL Server 2000 database.

There you go .. i knew there was a reason i keep the two separate :p J/K

Thanks Terry

Transcend,

I'm not sure what you mean by "there was a reason i keep the two separate" but the article doesn't say Access and SQL Server can't or shouldn't be used together. In fact, they work very well together. The article merely notes that Access 2000 was released prior to SQL Server 2000. There were incompatibilities. These can be fixed by installing an Office Service pack.

The main purpose of Access Projects is to work with SQL Server or MSDE databases. There are lots of developers using Access as a front-end to SQL Server. Many still use the linked table technology but Access Projects offer many advantages including the ability to create SQL Server tables, procedures, etc. from the Access GUI. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA

Thanks for your all kindly reply, especially to Terry L. Broadbent, DBA
Do I have to ask my client to upgrade their Ms. Office or can I have a distributable licence?
Actually I develop it by Ms Access XP but in Access 2000 format.
Thanks again

Thanks to all. Now I have no more problem since I bought Office XP Developer Edition. It's including Free Access Runtime too. So my I don't have to ask my customer to upgrade their Office immediately.
I hope this information usefull for the others

About Office 2000 Service Pack, it's too large for downloading. You better ask the CD from your vendor.

I hope there will be no more problem in Office 11
