Hello,
We recently purchased a new database server with 16GB RAM and in order to utilize ALL of the installed memory, we're looking to upgrade the OS on THIS BOX ONLY to Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition. Here's my questions:
1) Will the Windows 2003 Enterprise server be able to function as the Primary server in a cluster with the Secondary server being a Windows 2000 Advanced Server?
2) Other than possible performance issues, can the SQL2000 cluster fail-over properly if we use this configuration?
3) Are there any issues that may prohibit us from creating a Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition server as the primary DB server?
I'd appreciate any advice from those having any experience related to the above.
Thanks in advance,
Pat
