My company has a small network of about 25-30 users. We have a DSL connection with about 25 IP addresses. We are running out of IPs, so we decided to take two users and split their connection so they would share an IP. We did this by adding a 4 port router connected to the larger router, assigning the 4 port router one of the computers IP addresses, then letting it auto assign the two computers under it internal IPs.

****************************************
ie. Router IP : 64.219.209.12 <-- IP from win 2000 server

Router default IP: 192.168.0.1
Router then assigns two computers 192.168.0.100 & ...101
*****************************************

We can connect to the internet fine and even run an AS400 terminal emulator.

Our problem is that we need to allow users to log in to the network to access a shared network drive and email on Outlook 2000.

We tried to add a scope to the server of 192.168.0.1 with a range of 192.168.0.100 - ...103 to account for the four ports but this did not work.

Do I need to change the default IP (192...)of the 4 port router to match the 64.219.209.12 assigned in win 2000?

If so how do I keep the two computers from getting the same IP # as one of the other computers on the network (64.219.209.01-.30)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
