Hello All,

CR 11/ Oracle backend

This should be fairly straightforward, but I am at a loss yet again this AM. I am creating a report that is basically dealing with two fields.

- Field 1 contains the meter name
- Field 2 contains the amount of flow through the meter

The grand total of all of the meters is just a summation of all the meter names per day... but in order to calculate certain "areas" of production, I need to be able to subtract certain meter names from the grand total.

Is it easier to write a formula, or to do a custom group? Thoughts?

Hi,
maybe 2 ways ( at least) -
1:
Use a record selection formula that eliminates those meters' records from the report.

2:
Create a formula something like:
If {field1} in ['list','of','meters','to','exclude']
Then 0 else {field2}

and summarize the formula not the {field2} amount.

Hi,
Or, if you meant to have the grand total ( including the 'excludable' meters) and then also have a total minus those meters, just create a formula that subtracts the sum obtained by summing the
'If {field1} in ['list','of','meters','to','exclude']
Then 0 else {field2} '
formula from the Grand Total of {field2}
