Hi,
I have a problem with adding share permissions.
Here's the senario. I have a windows nt4 domain (domain A) and we trust a fellow nt4 domain (domain B).
I have added a single windows 2000 workstation to my nt4 domain (domain A). Using this 2000 workstation I have used user manager (shortcut created from pdc on domain A) to check the permissions on a share in domain A and to give a user change access to that same share from domain B.
I have found that unusually when I search for the user from domain B in user manager that I am required to log on to domain B to be able to explicitly add him to the share permissions.
This does not happen when I add the same user from domain B whilst running user manager from a nt4 workstation on Domain A.
Why does this happen and is there a fix??
I hope that this makes some sense and you good folks out there may be able to help me.
Cheers,
Paul.
