I work at a school, and we have to install a printer every time a new student logs on to a computer in our Windows 2000 lab. We have 12 Windows 2000 Professional computers in the lab, and 1 networked Samsung printer, which is set up on a Windows 2000 Server.

Any suggestions how I can make this printer appear for every user that logs on to the computer, without running the printer install every time?

log onto a computer with a user account and add the printer. Then log off with that account and log onto the machine with an administrator account. Then copy the user account credentials to overwrite the default user credentials. (RIGHT click my computer-->properties-->user profiles. Select the user you added the printer with and copy to Default user, then make sure the permissions are set to everyone.) Then use delprof.exe to delete the old profiles that were already logged onto the machine. Make sure that all data is saved to network.
