Hi all,

I'm having trouble figuring out how to add specific gridlines to a Crystal Reports Chart (8.5). I have a chart of inventory (sum value) per day. I want to add a gridline at the end of everymonth. (eg specific values of 31/Jan, 28/Feb etc).

I can't see anyway to do this in the "Chart Expert". I have also tried these ideas (all unsuccessfully).

1. Add a line to the report that would go over the chart at the required positions. This didn't seem to work because the report viewer always seems to put the chart above the lines.

2. Place a gif image below the chart and set the chart background to be transparent. This works fine inside the Crystal preview, but the transparency is lost in the JavaViewer.

If anyone knows how to get around this problem, I'd love to hear the solution.

thanks in advance

It can't be done inside of Crystal. The charting routine was an add-on that C.D. purchased elsewhere.

The best strategy is is use Crystal to reduce your data and then export it to Excel. Use Excel to create your charts or better yet, use a real charting program such as powerpoint, etc.
