Can anyone tell me if I can add eternal email addresses outside our domain to a group?

When I create a new group I only appear to add in domain users.

Thanks in advance...

Create a Contact in ADU&C and give it the SMTP list. Exchange is smart enough to not let just any kind of mail go out via Groups or DLs.
Once in, you will be able to see the contact in the listing.

Whoops! Should be SMTP Address not SMTP list. I hope you get what I mean

Thanks for your response.

I have added new contact(s) within ADU&C and have also added them to a new group.

I can see the group from Outlook but when I expand the group to see the recipients contained I receive the following error:

"Cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient. There was an error while expanding the list. The list was not fully expanded"

When I add domain users only I can expand the list.

Thanks.

All sorted.

I added SMTP mailbox to the external SMTP contact.
