I need to add a DID to the trunk group through my PRI and assign it to an analog port for a modem line. I don't know how to find out which trunk group all the other lines are already on or how to set this up. It is an Option 11C. Any help would be great!

normally you don't need a new did trunk for a single modem. any vacant number in you did range will did if assigned to the analog tn

Yeah, we didn't purchase a range. So I ordered two more DID's through the phone company, but I don't know how to program them to appear on the analog tn.

did you order two new numbers or two new trunks?

then just build the analog dn, they will share the did trunks that you use now.. did numbers never match the number of trunks.. we have 10,000 did numbers, all the 464 numbers, and around 400 trunks.. that is light on the trunk side but we don't have a conjestion problem. i did order a traffic study last week.. find an analog that has the same features the modem needs.. (one that is going to mail, and can dial out) then go to ld 10 and do a cpy.. call it internal then test it external, 99 percent of the time that is all you need.. if the did does not match the dn, you may need ld 49, let us know

The dn doesn't match the DID. I have the dn built. I think that when our vendor set up the other DID's, they used acdn's. Is ld 49 a different method? Either way, I'm not sure where to go from here.

ld 49 is a little cleaner but takes a few steps the 1st time

ld 49

prt
idc, return through

if you don't have a table

new
idc
0
x
1234
1234 2345

that turns 1234 into 2345, before the switch sees the dn and prevents some strange mail or menu problems later.. then in ld 21 prt the rdb.. if you don't know the route number, call a did from outside and trace it. or ld 21 ltm and return. that will give you all routes and members... sounds like you may not have 1000's.. the after you print the rdb look for idc.. if idc is yes, then the next two prompts will be the table number (day and night) if you do not have a table

go to ld 16, chg rdb x cust 0 and return down to idc, enter yes then on the next two prompts, enter the table number... your done, then you can add or redirect any did with just ld 49.. and i would find a new vendor

btw is you need us to paste the code for that, just let us know. it's an easy change, even if the discription doesn't make it seem easy

THANKS! That was very helpful! I'm not in the clear yet though. First off, there is already a table created as DCNO 1. I've added the numbers to it by doing a chg on idc. I put one of the number in there wrong. How do I take it out?

ld 49
chg
idc
cust 0
table 1
4444
4444 x

just add the number again and instead of any output digits use an x then return.. entry is gone... you can just as easy change the output if i would have put 3333 in instead of x, it would have changed the mistake... the x removes the entry completly..

Thanks! That did the trick.
One last question with this... During the testing process, I created a new table (DCNO 2) which I cannot out.

ld 49
REQ: out
TYPE: idc
CUST: 0
DCNO: 2
SCH 1279 (All branches must be released prior to OUT A FDID IDC tree. Action: Release the branches.)
How can I realease the branches without affecting other tables?

in one of your routes you may have idc yes and either the day or night idc is table 2.. if not, out each of the entries.. or you have a patch problem.. if i add a dcno to a route it needs to be in 49 before hand, so if you added it and didn't add it to a route, it should not have branches

That worked great. I outed each of the entries and then it let me out the table.
