Adding computers to a win2000 domain 1

Hi
I hope you can help me.
I am trying to add computers to a windows 2000 domain, but when I have type the domain name in used an account that will allow me to do this it comes back saying:

Credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials.

I am logged on to the client locally as administrator and I am using the Administrators domain account to add computers on to the domain.
Any ideas would be greatly apreciated.

go to a command prompt and type NET USE. Disconnect ANY connections listed, even if they're not physically mapped drives...
