I have a w2k3 domain that needs to be a child domain to a w2k domain so that the user database on the w2k domain is replicated to the w2k3 domain. Has anyone done this successfully?

The portion of the database that container the users and groups in the parent (2000) domain will not replicate to a child domain.
Users and groups are stored in the domain naming context, which is what you see when you look at AD Users and Computers. Each domain has its own domain naming context, and therefore its own set of users, groups and computers.
Information from the schema and configuration naming contexts are replicated to all domains in the forest.
Now I have another question simply because I have to join with another resource that supersedes mine. Will I still be able to create additional accounts on my server as I need or will this be under the responsibility of the admin of the master server?
Sorry if this seems to be getting out of hand question-wise.
