All:

I have an urgent request I was hoping you all could help me with. I'm in the process of adding a Win Server 2003 to my existing SBS 2000 network environment. I've already asked some questions about segregating a few users to this new server (not allowing them to access resources other than the internet, net printers) on from the main server. My question is how can I implement this. I'm not one for much hand holding, however this is quite important and has to get done by Monday (just found this out). I do not want to mess up my network. If someone could outline the particular steps that would be awesome.

Here is what I need to do:

1) Introduce the new server into our environment.
2) Set up organizational groups. one will have everyone as the members and they will have access to server 1 (with SBS 2000, which is the PDC), the second OU will have 5 user accounts and they will only have access to server 2, but will have internet access, and network printing capabilities.

Thanks so much for any assistance you guys can give me!

This question doesn't really haven anything to do with Organizational groups. Although, you can use OU's to organize and segment users/groups logically, beinging in these OU won't prevent access to certain servers.

Typically, you would use NT groups for this.

If your security is setup right, there is probably one or more NT groups that a user must be in, in order to access resources on a server.

Thanks Joseph:

Yeah, this question is more about adding the new server to my existing domain. I'm just curious as to what are the steps to introduce it into the network. The OU comes from another suggestion I was given when I was asking about adding 5 users who would only have access to the new server and not the existing server. If you can offer any help as to what steps I should take, please let me know.

Thanks again,
