Hello.
I know in a DOS/Window world I can add a new hard drive, make the new one master, the old one slave, install the operation system on the new one and then move files from the old to the new.
Can I do that with RedHat?
Thanks.

Great. Thanks for the quick answer.

I got the hard drive installed and RedHat 9 is up. I started to move/copy files from the old hd to the new hd. I'm now getting hard disk errors.

Does linux have a disk scanner like windows scandisk? I can't seem to locate any reference to such a utility on RedHat's web site (I'm still looking).
Is there such a thing?
Thanks.

I used e2fsck but it seemed to have only checked the file system. Since my last post, I found the switch for checking bad blocks. When I get home I'll do a man on e2fsck (Which should have been the first thing I did) to see what else e2fsck can do.
Thanks.
