Is it possible to add an additional G430 to our existing configuration. The catch is the G430 is about 50 miles away from the server and other gateways. Is it possible to connect the G430 via SIP?

Probably. You're typically limited by users and not by gateways. If you've already got a G430 in your network, you likely could add another.

And no, it's not SIP, it's H248. If you've got WAN out there with QoS off the main site, you ought to be fine.

Ok so as long as I am able to register the G430 to the server over the H248 WAN circuit, I should be fine.

Yeah, there's a lot more that goes into setting up a branch - dial plan, trunking, network regions, and all that - which you'd want to get someone knowledgeable to take on a little project like that. But as a starting off point, if you've got WAN with QoS then yes, adding a gateway shouldn't be a problem.

Additional to Kyles comments , what exactly is the gateway for as in what are you going to have at this site , because adding the gateway is not an issue but the burning question is do you actually require one , if you just need ip phones potentially not , but if you require local trunks(breakout) and redundancy features etc then a gateway would be justified , can you provide a little more info?

Its mostly for analog phones. I think its overkill but it looks like the only JITC certified solution available.

If it's just for analog phones it sounds like an expensive solution.

If you have Session Manager or SES you could place an analog gateway there, you probably even could connect an analog gateway with SIP directly to CM.
