i have a server in the office and i map a folder on it... i call it "Z" drive (then the folder name)... i am using cad and it relies on paths... so when i work at home and i am working on a dwg that looks in a certain path for another dwg... it cant find it cause it is looking for a drive letter "Z"....
is it possible to make a directory/folder have a drive letter w/ only one hard drive?? (for my house)... kinda like mapping a network drive in an office?

all computers are on winxp..

thanks

thanks....
but, do me a favor... what exactly does "subst Z: c:\" do?? i notice it made an exact image of my c:

thanks

It adds drive letter Z to point to the C:\, you could of course point it to a specific folder. If you had a folder dwg, you would use to mimic your office setting:
subst Z: c:\dwg

if i ever decide i dont need it anymore.... is there a way to undo it?? do i just "right click" and delete the "z:" ? or will that attempt to delete the c: also??

thanks for the knowledge....
