Hi All

I have an A5200 including 22x9gb fcal drives. I have no cables or cards or software. Please can you advise me on what I would need to use it with a simple compaq server.

thanks in advance
bob

what OS do you run on this Compaq Server? Solaris x86?

What you need:

HBA (Host Bus Adapter) - a PCI Card with a FibreChannel Interface (available from jni, Sun, ...)
HBA Driver (available from jni, Sun OS includes a driver)
FC-Cable(s)

Commands on a Solaris Box

luxadm probe -> if your HBA sees the Box you should get an output with Pathname and Boxname
devfsadmd will generate a list of dev nodes; you can see them with format command...

afaik it is possible, your HW requiremnets are still the same: HBA, HBA Driver, FC-Cable

What you need to tell your OS...? Sorry I don't know!

Maybe somebody from the Windows Server Forum can help?
